“Inside Edition” reported last weekend that the Harlem-born rapper and his photographer friend Jerry Flete were in Florida for a cryptocurrency event for Jones’ Capo Coin.
Flete, who also goes by Flee Flicks, started choking and suddenly collapsed – it’s unclear what triggered the incident.
“We were literally hanging out on a break from work. I’m just hanging out, ”Flete told the outlet. “It just happened so fast. Basically I woke up, Jim gave me a chest compression and said, ‘Wake up. Wake up.’ He basically saved my life, I’m here today because of Jim.
The “Pop Champagne” host was on the phone when his business partner, identified only as Doug, yelled at him frantically, prompting him to divert his attention. Jones told the publication he “had just seen Flee sitting up going through something that didn’t look right like he was choking.”
The former reality TV star added, “He couldn’t breathe, his eyes were going back to his head and he was having a little seizure. I actually didn’t know what was going on. fear.
Meanwhile, Flete said he was unaware of what was going on. “I guess it all happened so fast,” he said. “But I had an out-of-body experience. I felt like I was telling myself to come back to myself. Then I guess when I got out of it Jim was giving me chest compressions.
He continued, “The first person I woke up with was just Jim. He was holding me. I was sitting. It happened while I was sitting, so Jim was on top of me, hugging me in. his arms, I guess he was giving me chest compressions, that’s how I started to breathe.
Jones said he learned CPR when he was around 12 years old after the birth of his younger sister with unspecified heart disease. “They needed the whole family to take these special classes before she came home as a baby,” the New York native noted.
The rapper thinks that “all of those lessons have stuck with me to this day because I vividly remember everything they told me to do in certain situations.” He added: “I got there. I was just as frantic and confused as everyone at first. And then something jumped out at me like, go ahead. It brought it back to life.
It is not known if Flete sought additional medical attention after the incident, but it has since prompted the pair to take their health more seriously.
