Joeseppi is without Joe Stortini? Not enough! – Restaurant review

The last time we had dinner at Joeseppi’s gourmet restaurant? While it was under reconstruction, we ordered take out.

Recently we were shopping and Peg said, “Let’s go to Joeseppi’s! So we did it. We walked in and told the front desk that we were going to the bar. We love to eat at the bar. We had seen the bar during its rebuild so we weren’t surprised to see a much bigger bar than before with more people at the tables which would have been possible before the redesign.

While I was taking a few photos, Peg ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc for her and a Shirley Temple (with lots of cherries) for me.

Peg and I sat at a table right by the bar at the back. While I was taking a few photos, Peg ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc for her and a Shirley Temple (with lots of cherries) for me. I could have easily understood the order when I saw the waitress pouring cherries from a glass container into a tall glass.

The owner came to our table and placed a box of chocolates on the table in front of me.

While we waited for dinner we chatted with our waitress and one of the new owners, Kaitlyn. The owner came to our table and placed a two pound box of See chocolates on the table in front of me. I looked at her questioningly and she motioned for me to slide the box off the table over to Peg.

Peg was very happy with the two-pound box of See’s Candies.

Peg was very happy with the two-pound box of See’s Candies. Two days later, we brought the box to a small six-person dinner and offered the candy. Everyone had a piece of two and we still had a pretty heavy box when we got home. Dark chocolate confectionery constantly calls our names.

While the bartender was working, we asked him about the offers and changes. Like everyone else, he was super nice and having fun. We had two disappointments at Joeseppi: # 1 – They no longer offer the Chicken Tortellini Soup with their meals, and # 2 – The Sicilian Sausage Soup was not as thick and flavorful as it used to be. Back home we added a little more garlic and reduced it until it got thicker.

While the super friendly bartender was working, we asked him about the offers and changes.

We ordered our favorites, which are the more expensive options on the menu. Peg ordered the salmon fillet, while I ordered the rib eye steak. We always order whole wheat pasta which offers just a little extra kick. Peg’s salmon was just a little overcooked. I enjoyed the bite I had, but Peg thought it was a bit dry. We both loved the sirloin steak. It felt a bit thicker than Joe’s traditional cut. It was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and the butter sauce certainly didn’t spoil the experience.

We enjoyed our evening at Joeseppi’s. There are reports that Joe still comes three or four times a week to greet old friends and guests. It’s always good to see him. We would give Joeseppi an “A” grade. The atmosphere and the friendly representatives make you feel right at home. I think the A Plus would have been added if the salmon had been cooked a little less.

Entertainment is back. They have a new stage.

Peg and I used to dine at the bar years ago when they had shows. Entertainment is back. They have a new stage. As more and more COVID restrictions are lifted, we could regularly see sold-out events. The Sunday Night Jam Session calls us.
