The UTS Artist in Residence the program returns for a second year in 2022. This opportunity pairs a visual artist or collective based in New South Wales with a faculty at UTS to support the creation of a new work.
The UTS Artist in Residence program is a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration for the mutual benefit of artist and academic research, and recognizes the vital role of the arts in promoting economic prosperity, social and cultural aspects of our communities.
The UTS Artist in Residence program spans 12 months, from February 2022 – February 2023.
Artist’s fees of $ 10,000 will be paid to the artist in residence, as well as an additional budget of $ 10,000 in materials to support the creation of a new work.
The artist in residence will work closely with an academic or research area of ââUTS to develop a new work. The UTS Gallery & Art Collection team will help applicants find the best research partner for their proposed project. The partner professor will designate a resource person to welcome the artist in residence to the faculty and introduce him to the relevant academics, research areas and facilities.
