“No artist in the world today, regardless of artistic movement, genre or style, continues to innovate as
Tom gilleon. From his career at Walt Disney Imagineering conceptualizing theme parks that
becomes EPCOT and Disneyland Paris, Tokyo, and Shanghai – with its advent of PIXoils
technology to create a new genre of NFT – Tom Gilleon is contemporary art
genius of our time. But her humble spirit and her humanity are what attracts me.
It is an authentic Montana breeder and artist like Charlie russell. “
– Tom figarelle, Managing Director of the CM Russell Museum
“It seems to me that most NFTs are bought for investment or status purposes. Gilleon’s NFTs will be collected for investment, status, and Art appreciation. It will appeal to a whole new group of NFT buyers, ”says Texas oil tanker David hooper.
NFTipi-001 is a showcase of visual art. In just 35 seconds, Gilleon captures his audience with a simple yet diverse composition of a Native American encampment, the Rocky Mountains, portraiture, 3D climate and chroma evoking a quest for vision with a timeless Native American flute. We feel in the visual realm what can best be described in musical terms: notes, tones, harmonies and a moving rhythm that takes the viewer to a deeper and more contemplative place.
“Gilleon’s NFTs are a visual sanctuary. A higher level of experience ”, declares Marshall monroe, former creative director of the Walt Disney Company and inventor of PIXoils™ digital artwork platform. “I call him Renewal of romanticism –a new genre of fine art for NFTs where a sensory sanctuary transports us out of technology for the sake of technology. Likewise, the romantics of the 18th and 19th centuries rejected industrial-classical constraints in exchange for imagination, respect for nature, and sovereignty of free expression – we open a portal to a reclaimed universe. ”
NFTipi-001 is a collaboration between Gilleon and his compatriot Disney Imagineer and artist-technologist Marshall monroe, whose studio is dedicated to transcendent fine art in emerging new forms – from mashed animated pixels to AI robots.
Inspired by Gilleon’s love for the western mountain and his mythical tale, the West Mountain series of 12 NFTs are sold in a limited edition of 5 each. The first 3 out of 5 will be auctioned individually. The 4th and 5th will be auctioned as two complete collections of the West Mountain complete portfolio with corresponding edition numbers. An exclusive “artist proof” of each NFT containing Gilleon’s actual signature is also auctioned. Digital art buyers at Gilleon West Mountain suite will be able to unlock full quality access 4K files to frame and view at home or in the office on new digital NFT screens.
“Thomas moran, Winslow Homer, Warhol and Basquiat would have been fascinated by t
its technology. To paint the mountains, the sea coasts, Elvis in a shootout, and cultural
subjects not anchored to the canvas, but paintings that move with the music – Tom Gilleon
highlights a new genre and a new generation of artists. “
– Tamara ashburn, Expressionist fine art painter
Mr. Gilleon began his career in the fine arts by drawing in the sand on the beach with a stick at the age of 5 in 1947. In a house without electricity, evening entertainment consisted of drawing and telling stories. kerosene lamp stories. Tom learned to draw from watching his immigrant grandfather, a talented artist and cabinetmaker from Scotland. And from his artist grandmother who aligned himself strongly with Native American culture and taught Tom to hunt, fish, pick edible plants, and shoot rifles soon after learning to walk. After serving in the Navy as a cryptographer during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Gilleon’s artistic talents were discovered at Patrick Air Force Base at Cape Canaveral where he was quickly reassigned to illustrate the Saturn and Apollo space programs of the NASA. In 1974, Gilleon’s work was brought to the attention of Walt disney world who hired him to conceptualize the designs for the next high-tech EPCOT center. He was soon asked to join the company’s California research and development arm – Walt Disney Imagineering – where he worked alongside some of the world’s most talented fine art painters. In the 1990s, Gilleon and his family moved to Montana where he started a fine art painting career while working for Disney. Increasingly, his works portray the land and history of the American West in a modernist style. Gilleon bought a 2,000-acre ranch on the banks of the Missouri River in Cascade, Montana, named by Lewis & Clark in 1805. 100 years later, it has become a favorite watering hole for the famous Western artist, Charlie russell, who was the best friend of the family from whom Gilleon bought the ranch. Today, Gilleon saddles his horse in the same barn. Russell saddled his horse and breeds Black Angus cattle. Gilleon is considered one of the top 5 contemporary western artists alive today and one of the most innovative artists in the world. In 2010, Gilleon and Marshall monroe invented PIXoils™ digital artwork platform now licensed to artists to create digital art and NFTs.
In 2020, Gilleon went from the production factory of gallery representation to painting only museum-quality masterpieces in personal performance. Gilleon’s paintings are part of the permanent collection of the Whitney Western Art Museum, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Spirit of the West: Scottsdale Museum of the West, the Booth Museum of Western Art, and the CM Russell Museum.
In October 2022, the Scottsdale Museum of the West presents a major retrospective of 70 paintings by Gilleon – including oil paintings he created at Disney, his digital paintings and NFTs.
Gilleon’s prices soared in 2020 as he switched to painting MMXX masterpieces. He is now innovating a new kind of NFT and licensing his PIXoils™ platform to a new generation of artists.
